Just like the much better known one DISQUS the platform IntenseDebate.com offers a feature-rich comment system for WordPress, Blogger, and many other blogging / CMS platforms. It is part of the Automattic-Family, where WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Jetpack, VaultPress, Akismet, Gravatar, Tumblr, and a lot more great names came from.

Yes, this page is old, the usability isn’t that good, but the free high-quality dofollow backlinks are very helpful in the case of SEO. The clue is: There is no limit – you may publish as many backlinks as you like!

First of all sign up for free here: https://intensedebate.com/signup. Your username will be part of your profile URL.

Now close the window and check your mails. (Please pay attention, the confirmation mail from IntenseDebate may get filtered by your SPAM protection.) Confirm your email address by clicking the link in the email. After that you should log in to edit your profile right here: https://www.intensedebate.com/logmein.

Here you can write a small description about yourself and add your blog or website. Feel free to add an anchor text of your choice. Click on SAVE SETTINGS to publish this now or continue and add all the links you’d like to promote. You have to scroll up to ADD BLOG / WEBSITE for every new link you want to publish, but it’s worth all the work.

If you click on SERVICES on your dashboard you can add your social media profiles, like Facebook, Twitter, or Flickr by inserting only your username.

This is what your IntenseDebate.com profile could look like – not pretty, but effective. The preview of your published links doesn’t work right now, normally it shows a screenshot of your website or blog. But the links already work and that is what we want.

Additional settings on IntenseDebate.com

If you go to the dashboard and click on ACCOUNT you can change the email-address and password, but also you can (and should) unsubscribe from all mailings, if you don’t use this plugin. (And don’t worry about my public user key on this picture, I already have a new one. 😉

In the settings for PICTURE you can upload a picture of you. (My last upload didn’t work.) If you already use Gravatar they will take the picture from there automatically.

Like always you have to share and publish this new link to get it indexed as fast as possible. I’ve already shared it on this page, on lasso.net, protopage.com, AllMyFaves.com, start.me, diigo.com, Instapaper.com, dailygram.com, and telegram as shown in the last articles. All other already existing Social Media Channels with outgoing dofollow links will also be very helpful. But in my link-building tutorial, I will soon show you a lot more free landing pages and profiles where you can publish them with a lot more link juice. This URL should be indexed very fast.

Check your link building success with the Google Search Console

Don’t forget to check your link-building success from time to time. You can use the Google Search Console to see which domains already give you a fully working backlink if you don’t have a paid tool at ahrefs, XOVI, MOZ, Sistrix, or Searchmetrics.
