I don’t trust words. I trust pictures.
(Gilles Peress)
This is only one of the reasons, why I show all these screenshots in my link building tutorials. But in this case it is not about these kind of pictures – it’s about photography. Everybody takes pictures, especially in these times with all the smartphones. Some do it better and professional, some not so good and just for fun. But all of them like to share their photos to the world. So there are a lot of platforms just for photography, the most famous would be Instagram or Pinterest. But both of them don’t give you dofollow backlinks – the good old and sometimes already forgotten https://www.flickr.com/ does it!
Flickr was launched in 2004, has 112 Million users and owes almost five billon (!) of backlinks. It once belongs to Yahoo!, but now SmugMug is the owner and they do a great job. This Domain will give your project a lot of link power, so don’t hesitate and get involved to improve your SEO.
Sign up for free at flickr.com
First of all sign up for free here: https://identity.flickr.com/sign-up
Check your mailbox for the verification mail and confirm your flickr account by clicking the link.
You can close the first window now. After that you can sign in / log in in the newly opened window from your confirmation.
Now got to the DASHBOARD in the upper right corner and click on SETTINGS in the DROP DOWN MENU.
On the right side you will see a section called PROFILE.
I strongly recommend to create your own memorable flickr web address. (https://www.flickr.com/profile_url.gne)
As mentioned on the website pay attention: This can’t be changed later, so choose wisely!
Hit PREVIEW if you’re think you’re ready.
If you’re sure click on OK, LOCK IT IN.
Two links will be created, the first one is your photo stream https://www.flickr.com/photos/backlinkguide/ and the second one your flickr profile https://www.flickr.com/people/backlinkguide/. Click on your profile link and now you can EDIT it.
Bring some life in your profile by writing a small bio into the ABOUT section and upload some pictures – at least for your profile picture and the banner.
Create free backlinks on flickr.com
Scroll down to the section where you can see your email address and click the pencil on the right side to EDIT YOUR PROFILE INFORMATION.
Put in your website on the right side. Tumblr maybe interesting also later on, but right now we only need our personal URL. Changes will be saved automatically. Click DONE if you’re done… 😉
And that’s all, folks! Now you own a high quality free dofollow backlink at flickr.com. Keep following this blog for a lot of more platforms for photography, pictures and images, which will give you free backlinks for your websites.
Of course you also have to share and publish this link to get it indexed quickly. I’ve already shared it on this page, on lasso.net, protopage.com, AllMyFaves.com, start.me, diigo.com, ProvenExpert.com and telegram as shown in the last articles. All other already existing Social Media Channels with outgoing dofollow links will also be helpful. But in the next chapter of my link building tutorial I will soon show you a lot of free landing pages and profiles where you can publish it with a lot of more linkjuice. Please be patient, as this link is already really high rated it could take some time to be indexed at Google or ahrefs.
Please write a comment below if the link doesn’t work as described or is offline. I want to keep this information up to date for every user.
