Welcome to the world of Podcasts! Everybody talks about Podcasting, some of them listen regularly to their favorite podcast and a few of them have their own. It’s a dream come through for everybody who always wanted to make radio. Even if it’s only a kind of internet radio. But you don’t have to talk to get a piece of the cake. Just register and get a free dofollow backlink from anchor.fm, one of the biggest podcast sites in the world wide web-hosted by Spotify. That will be a very good promotion for your blog or website.
Create a free account at anchor.fm
First of all, sign up for free at https://anchor.fm/signup. Attention: The name you put in here will be your username and part of your URL. You can only change that if you upload your first podcast episode.
After that verify your email address by clicking the link in the verification mail and continuing to the dashboard. Yes, it’s always the same procedure…
Skip the next steps and go straight to the upper right corner of your screen. Open the SETTINGS and UPDATE SETTINGS in the menu.
Now fill your profile with some information, choose or upload cover art and the used language and so on… but don’t hit the save button now!
Create a free dofollow backlink at anchor.fm
Scroll down to the bottom in the settings section until you find the ACCOUNT SETTINGS. Here you can create your free high-quality dofollow backlink from anchor.fm.
Scroll back to the top and then save your work.
Your anchor.fm profile is now ready to go. Just add your chosen name to anchor.fm – in my case it is https://anchor.fm/backlinkguide. It looks a little bit lost without any podcast on it, but the free dofollow backlink works well and will help you with your link-building strategy and SEO.
How to quickly check the link status nofollow / dofollow?
The rules of the link-building game can change from one day to another. Yesterday it was a great dofollow backlink, today it is a useless nofollow / UGC backlink. That’s why here is my SEO Pro Tipp for you:
How to check the status of your backlink quickly without a long search in the source code of the page?
Simply by using the MANGOOLS SEO extension for your Google Chrome browser. Even in the free version without an account, you can easily check the links on a website.
- Open the extension on the website you want to check and wait for your drink to get prepared.
- Click in ON-PAGE SEO at the top and then on OUTBOUND LINKS in the menu on the left side.
- Check EXTERNAL and see what we’ve got. The green DF stands for dofollow – the red NF for nofollow.

If you already pay for an ahrefs account then install the new ahrefs SEO toolbar: https://ahrefs.com/de/seo-toolbar. It’s even more exact and tells you also if the backlinks are UGC or sponsored. In this case, they are more or less useless for link building.
Like always you have to share and publish this new link to get it indexed quickly. I’ve already shared it on this page, on lasso.net, protopage.com, AllMyFaves.com, start.me, diigo.com, Instapaper.com, linktree, carrd.co, dailygram.com, hatena.ne.jp, myminifactory.com, and telegram as shown in the last articles. All other already existing Social Media Channels with outgoing dofollow links will also be helpful. But in my link-building tutorial, I will soon show you a lot more free landing pages and profiles where you can publish them with a lot more link juice. It could take some time to get this link indexed.
Check your link building success with the Google Search Console
Don’t forget to check your link-building success from time to time. You can use the Google Search Console to see which domains already give you a fully working backlink if you don’t have a paid tool at ahrefs, XOVI, MOZ, Sistrix, or Searchmetrics. And that is the link to the Google Search Console: https://search.google.com/search-console – get an account, it’s for free! And you need to control your backlinks. In case you wonder: The link list in the Google Search Console will be updated only once a week.

This one is hot, do you have tested if the social links (and all others) get dofollow, if you link a podcast feed to the account? I saw this kind of behavior on Artstation. The pages are noindex until you add your first project, then everything goes live.

You can upload any audio, but the backlink you get at the podcast description is ugc. The good thing is that the page with the dofollow backlink can have a lot of content and an audio file, plus a brand mention on shopify won’t hurt.
